Mango Citrus Smoothie

I don’t know about you, but I could have a nourishing smoothie any day, any time of year. In the cooler months, I gravitate toward peanut butter-y, chocolate shake-mimicking drinks like my Peanut Butter Fudge Smoothie. As soon as the days get longer, though, I’m all about instant refreshers. The tartness of juicy mango and orange are softened with a hint of frozen banana and distracted by a punch of anti-inflammatory ginger root. This powerhouse of a smoothie is one that could become a part of your regular rotation, leaving you feeling your best and, ultimately, refreshed!

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen mango

  • 1/2 cup orange juice

  • 1/4 cup unsweetened non-dairy milk

  • frozen banana half

  • 3 tbsp chia or hemp seeds

  • 1 tsp ginger root, peeled and grated

  • 1 scoop vanilla protein (optional)

  • 1 cup ice

Directions:

  1. Add all of the ingredients to a high-speed blender.

  2. Blend until smooth.*

  3. Pour into your glass of choice and enjoy!

Notes:

  • Quick tip: pulse toward the end to get rid of any straggling chunks and to diminish the risk of blending the smoothie too thin.
