French Toast

Need something to help roll out of bed a little quicker? I’ve got just the thing! The strong cinnamon smell will do the trick, no doubt. Pairs so well with each slices’ crisp and crunchy exterior, yet fluffy inside. Toppings are warmly welcomed, like fresh fruit, maple syrup, almond butter, the options are truly endless. Enjoy this sweet start to the morning, and it’ll be a staple in your house, before you know it!

Ingredients:

  • 5-6 slices of bread (I used this paleo bread)

  • 1 egg, pasture-raised

  • 1/2 cup dairy-free milk, unsweetened

  • 1 scoop collagen peptides (optional)

  • 1 tbsp cinnamon

  • 1/2 tbsp ginger (see notes)

Directions:

  1. Mix all of the ingredients well, except for the bread slices.

  2. Lightly soak each slice of bread in the mixture, and let the excess drip back off. As you go, immediately transfer to a pan, over medium heat. Will likely need to place on the pan in rounds.

  3. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until crisp, flip, and do the same.

  4. Top with organic berries, cacao nibs, truly anything and enjoy!

  5. Store, if needed, in the fridge or freezer. Reheat on the stove or in the oven, when desired.

  6. If you choose to add the ginger to this recipe, it magically turns into gingerbread french toast!
