Creamy Chai Latte

This drink is derived from the Indian culture, where some have it every single morning! It has made it’s way all over the world and become a classic, colder-months staple to keep us cozy. Whether on a slower-paced weekend morning or a rush out the door, each aromatic sip will provide a calming effect. This is so easy to make in minutes, whether iced or hot. The extra frothy milk on top of it all and refreshing switch from a normal cup of coffee is an easily done, without having to leave the comfort of home!

Ingredients:

  • 1 organic black tea bag

  • 1.5 cups hot water

  • 3/4 cup (dairy-free) milk

  • 1/2 tbsp chai spice mix (make your own here!)

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1-2 scoops collagen peptides (optional)

  • 1-2 tbsp honey (optional)

Directions:

  1. Heat the water then let the tea steep for 3- 5 minutes.

  2. While waiting, in a blender or with an immersion one, froth the milk, chai spice, and vanilla extract. Add the collagen and honey as well, if desired.

  3. Once steeped, pour the milk mixture into the tea.

  4. If you prefer iced, store the whole mixture in the fridge for about 10 minutes, then pour over ice.

  5. Enjoy! Bonus points for using a favorite mug!

Notes:

  • Easily make this in advance, to make your mornings even swifter! If you prefer a hot latte, simply store the milk mixture in the fridge, and steep the tea the day of. For an iced latte, follow step four, but store in the fridge for up to 5 days. Pour over ice, when the craving hits, so it does not become watery!
