Vanilla Protein Milkshake

This cool drink is the ideal post-workout fuel or even midday sweet treat. It is so simple, with just five ingredients and a blender or food processor involved, Do not let it fool you, this turns out so addictively creamy, with a refreshing sweetness and completely hidden boost of immunity! Take just a few, quick minutes out of a warm or cool + cozy day to get an extra scoop of protein in, as needed. Might as well double or even triple this beverage because I guarantee you and the fam will be begging for more!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (dairy-free) milk

  • 3/4 cup dairy-free, vanilla ice cream (I recommend this and this!)

  • 1/2 tsp ginger (optional)

  • 1-2 scoops protein powder of choice (I love this collagen and this vanilla protein powder!)

  • 1.5-2 cups ice

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients, except for the ice, in a food processor or blender.

  2. Add the ice until a desired consistency is reached.

  3. Top with nut butter, cacao nibs, cherries, or anything else you are craving.

  4. Enjoy with a straw or spoon!

Notes:

  • To keep the shake from melting faster, place your cup of choice in the freezer in advance. I do so while I make my smoothies, shakes, even iced coffees!

  • Feel free to use another type of ice cream if you would like to try other flavors— I have just used vanilla and mint chip for this. Comment below to let me know how yours turn out!
