Creamy Crockpot Dip

This childhood classic is oh so smooth, making the crumbles of hearty, ground turkey a perfect, protein-packed fit. No occasion is needed, though this is a game-day, fan-favorite appetizer and healthy snack. All of the deliciously warm ingredients are dairy-free and pair beautifully with anything from vibrant veggies to crunchy crackers. With bold, juicy tomatoes contradicting the other six ingredients, this recipe won’t be lasting long!

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup organic ground turkey

  • 1 cup cream cheese (I used this!)

  • 3/4-1 cup sour cream (to taste) (here is a vegan option!)

  • 10-ounce can diced tomatoes

  • 1/2 cup nutritional yeast

  • 1 tsp fresh pepper

  • 1 tsp paprika

Directions:

  1. Over the stove, cook the ground turkey until at least the majority of the raw meat is fully-cooked.

  2. Set this aside, then add the cream cheese and sour cream to your crockpot.

  3. Drain the diced tomatoes, then pour those into the mix, as well as the nutritional yeast, pepper, and paprika.

  4. Stir until everything is well-incorporated, then gradually mix the meat in as well.

  5. Turn the heat on high, stirring about every five minutes (to keep from burning). Continue this for a total of 14-16 minutes, or until the dip is fully-warm and lightly bubbling on top.

  6. Keep on low, while being served, and cover in between uses.

  7. Enjoy with crisp crackers, spicy chips, or fresh veggies!

  8. Store leftovers, if any, in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week. Heat in increments of 30 seconds, stirring between each, whenever the craving for it hits!

Notes:

  • Using organic sausage or grass-feed + finished beef totally works here as well, in place of ground turkey! You can even totally omit it, for a fully-vegan option!

  • Feel free to use 1 + 1/4 cup freshly-diced tomatoes, in place of canned ones!
