Strawberry Mango Smoothie
This drink is perfect for a post-workout refresher or morning fuel to keep you energized throughout the day! Don’t be fooled by the bright, leafy spinach I like to hide in my smoothies — though it’s totally optional, they give a good boost of B vitamins and magnesium! They are totally tasteless, thanks to the slightly tart, yet sweet combo of juicy mangos and fresh strawberries. Done in less than ten minutes and, if you’re not careful, can be gone even quicker!
Ingredients:
3/4 cup mango
3/4 cup organic strawberries
3/4 cup unsweetened kefir/yogurt
1/4-1/2 an avocado
2-3 cups organic spinach
1-2 scoops collagen
2 tbsp ground flax/hemp seeds
1 tsp spirulina
1/4 tsp ginger
1 cup ice
Directions:
In a blender, toss in the fruit, kefir/yogurt, and greens. Blend this until smooth.
Add in the collagen, seeds, spirulina, and ginger, then lightly blend this again, until everything is well-incorporated.
Gradually add in the ice. Hold down the pulse option for a few seconds at a time so the smoothie doesn’t get too liquidy as the ice thickens it up.
Pour into your favorite glass, grab a reusable straw, and enjoy!
Notes:
To keep the smoothie from melting, or becoming too thin, place your glass in the freezer as you make the smoothie. When you’re ready to pour the smoothie, the glass should be cold — this way, the thickness of your smoothie will be sustained for much longer than normal!
