3-Ingredient Chocolate Frosting

Little did we know, it only takes three ingredients to create the perfect topping for any moist cake, crispy slice of toast, pancakes, waffles, you name it! Eating by the spoonful is also highly acceptable, more-so encouraged. This is thick, rich, and has a hint of caramel, blended with the emphasized chocolate. Personally, I’ll be making mini batches, here and there, to combat my powerful sweet tooth’s cravings. It takes a total of five minutes out of your life, giving all the more reason to never go back to store-bought!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup any nut/seed butter

  • 1/4 cup maple syrup

  • 3 tbsp cacao powder

Directions:

  1. Over the lowest heat, place all ingredients in a small saucepan.

  2. Stir frequently, until everything is melted together and reached a completely liquid consistency.

  3. Let cool, for at least 5 minutes.

  4. Spread onto any cake, sweet toast, or eat by the spoon!

  5. Store leftovers in the fridge. Bonus for a cute jar!

Notes:

  • I used almond butter, since it has a more neutral flavor. Other neutrals include sunflower, cashew, walnut, and pecan butter.

  • Here is the vanilla cake mix I used, from one of my all-time favorite brands.
