Homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice
This is the perfect addition to any fall-related recipes, sprinkled in my frothy pumpkin spice latte, pumpkin banana bread, or on a classic, creamy yogurt bowl and crispy slice of toast! It smells even fresher than the purchasable kinds, plus you have control over what goes in it. It will last countless months in the cabinet, which is ideal for those who don’t include this delicious, comforting flavor into their diet all year. Merely five, strong-smelling spices come together to make a versatile, quick combination. Save trips to the store, and keep this simple spice on hand, always!
Ingredients:
10 tbsp cinnamon
4 tbsp allspice
4 tbsp ginger
2 tbsp cloves
2 tbsp nutmeg
Directions:
In a small bowl or jar, stir everything together well, using a small spoon.
That’s it! Enjoy right away, and save the rest in an airtight jar or container for months!
Notes:
I made this recipe easy to break down, if you prefer less at one time.
All five of these spices are found at most grocery stores, whereas this is not always the case with pumpkin pie spice. That’s exactly why I opted for making my own from scratch!
